John Norton is a Managing Director for ACT Capital Advisors and manages the Southwest Washington and Oregon markets for ACT. John also manages the Information Technology Team. John also works on deals outside of technology and successfully delivers the ACT auction process for clients. In addition to working with clients on M&A opportunities, John also leads the digital marketing efforts for ACT. John lives in Vancouver, WA.
Prior to joining ACT in 2016, John operated and sold multiple businesses. He was the President of iHost Networks (iHost.Net). iHost was a provider of Web Hosting, Domain Registration and eCommerce services. John led the customer growth from a few hundred small and medium business accounts to over 14,000 during his time at the Company. In 2013, iHost became one of the first shared hosting companies to move its data center infrastructure entirely to the Cloud (Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS). iHost was sold in 2015 to a private buyer.
Before iHost, John was a partner in MicroCrafts, Inc., a custom software engineering firm that was sold to publicly traded Metamor Worldwide in 1999. MicroCrafts was one of the fastest-growing companies in the Seattle area, coming in 3rd place on Deloitte’s Fast 50 list.
John graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Economics. While at the University of Washington, John was a 2-year letterman on the Husky Crew Team.
